Funding

The cost of running the home is $275,000 per annum per the 2003 financial report i.e. $4,015 per child per annum and this cost has steadily increased over the past 5 years and the following is a breakdown of sources of income:-

For on-going maintenance and additional resources to care for each and keep the doors of the Home open, Ranfurly looks to the generosity of corporate and private citizens and international donors.

While the support from the community has been tremendous, the future development of the home requires additional support. Current fundraising projects include upgrading the existing teenage dormitory to include private rooms. The ultimate goal is to continue Lady Ranfurly’s legacy of laughter, love and kindness for the children.

• Installing hurricane windows throughout the Home
• Installing new commercial grade stove, 2 new freezers for kitchen
• Air vents installed in kitchen and laundry area.
• New tables in Dining area added with additional sitting room
• Updating all computer software for the kids computer room
• Painting kids computer room, nursery section, girls dorm, boys dorm
• Installing air conditioning in nursery section, girls dorm, boys dorm, kitchen and dining area
• New mattresses where needed
• Refurbishing of chester drawer units and bunk beds
• Installing new blinds on windows where needed
• New sheets purchased for all beds
• New towels given to all children
• Updating girls bathroom area with new bathroom fixtures
• Upgrading electrical throughout home
• Remodeling waiting room to a reception area
• Updating administrators office
